Quarantine, But Make It Fashion

Happy Labor Day, babes! I hope you celebrated today safely and socially distanced. Could you imagine reading that sentence a year ago? Pandemics are wild.

Pre-pandemic, I had an amazing job at Naked Retail, a collaborative retail space full of amazing brands that I usually spent my entire paycheck on. Since I’m returning to work next week, I’m reminiscing on some brands we’ve had in the past. And it just so happens that one of my favorite looks includes two of them!

The first is Don’t Tell Mama, a brand that makes some awesomely comfy graphic tees. You all know how I feel about graphic tees, but all of these are adorable and super soft. I loved the fit of this one

Next is Naked Cashmere, which makes some of the most beautiful cashmere pieces out there. I didn’t know anything about cashmere before working at Naked, but I fell in love with these joggers. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: if you have never worn cashmere pants, please try a pair on, because they will change your life.

Put both of these pieces together and you get a fun, comfortable look that’s perfect for laying on your couch or dining on the sidewalk. Just make sure you’re wearing your mask, of course!

Remember Easter?

Jeez Louise, doesn’t April feel like it was ten years ago? I’ve been seeing so many memes about the “Early Quarantine” era and it’s making me nostalgic for my family’s first quarantine holiday: Easter!

I know I’ve said it a million times before, but my mom is the absolute best. She’s insanely optimistic and will never let anything get her down. We usually have a lot of holidays with my extended family, like Easter, which we obviously weren’t able to have this year. Even though I love Easter, it’s kind of a cursed holiday for us. One year we had to cancel because I had the flu (yes, in April, I have questions too), the next year we had to cancel because my mom had a stomach bug, and this year everything was canceled because of Miss Rona.

But never fear, Queen Doreen is here! She still cooked us a lovely meal, set the table with a table cloth, napkins, glasses, and candles, and put some of my stuffed animals in the extra seats at our table. We all got dressy and put makeup on, like the pre-quarantine days. She made the holiday special even though it was much different from previous years.

I kept things simple with some leggings, a dressy shirt, and white Converse. This top is adorable, but I never wear it! I thought Easter would be the perfect occasion because of the flowery details. It was really nice to do a full face of makeup too.

Even though we made Easter fun, I would really like to fully celebrate the rest of the holidays in 2020. So if everyone could please wear a mask and socially distance, that would be great! Thanks!!!

top (no longer being sold at Zara I am SO SAD). pants (from Kensie). sneakers. sunglasses (use my code CLUNKSTER25 FOR 25% off your order!). perfume.

Hi friends! I hope you’re all enjoying this sunny July. I’ve been spending my time moving out of my childhood home and into a beautiful one that I can’t wait to decorate! Life is a bit overwhelming at the moment, but great things are happening and I’m really excited. Sometimes the things that overwhelm you the most are the best!

You guys saw these pants a couple weeks ago, and because I’m so obsessed with them, I figured I’d show you how I style them when I’m not working. I absolutely love the way this crop top looks with these pants, but belly shirts are a no-no at my job! This top is kind of hard to explain; it twists at the bottom, not like a knot, but a simple twist in the fabric that makes such a big difference. It’s so unique! This top looks so beautiful with really any bottoms that I pick. I got it at Zara for $5. The sale goddesses absolutely blessed me that day!

I topped off this cute casual look with my black Converse, another thing I could never wear to work, and my favorite Sunice sunglasses. I also spritzed on some Mad Love, which is super floral-y and sweet. Perfect for a floral look!
